Sub-metering a building’s key activity areas helps businesses to identify the reasons behind the mains metering data and the cause of the kWh data and hence the energy saving opportunities. Once users know the where’s and why’s of energy consumption, they can identify how to optimise activities to reduce consumption and waste.
An immediate opportunity is being able to identify day-night profiles for each of the activity areas; from here businesses can see where they have ‘waste consumption’ and hence how they can reduce this consumption and the savings available. in most cases, t-mac has identified an immediate 20% energy reduction opportunity from viewing day-night profiles with lighting, heating and air conditioning being culprits as they’re unnecessarily left on overnight and at weekends.
